CSONG has Donated 135k in Service & Goods to Communities

 “MLK Now 2017” will come at an especially critical point, as people across the country prepare for the new President to take office. In addition to the performances, “MLK Now” will feature conversations with national and community activists, organizers and thought leaders including Million Hoodies Executive Director Dante Barry and Chicago Youth Peace Activist FM Supreme to address how issues of racial, social and economic justice will be impacted by the incoming Administration, and how to ensure the strength and sustainability of progressive movement-building going forward. Additional supporting partners for this year include Magnolia Pictures, ARRAY, MACRO Ventures, Dream Defenders, Black Lives Matter, Color of Change, and Million Hoodies.   

 Blackout for Human Rights will host “MLK Now,” a special MLK Day event to celebrate and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and explore how his message and vision continue to resonate in today’s racial, social and political landscape. “MLK Now” will feature historic speeches performed by some of today’s leading actors, musical and spoken word performances, and will close off with an interactive panel discussion addressing the most pressing human rights issues of today, including police violence, racial and social injustice, economic inequality, the prison industrial complex and grassroots and political mobilization.
